On April 22, 2022, the Center for Infectious Disease Education and Research (CiDER), Osaka University, and the Institute of Tropical Disease (ITD), Universitas Airlangga, Indonesia, signed an "Agreement on Collaborative Research regarding Emerging and Re-Emerging Infectious Diseases".
The two universities have already established a close collaborative relationship by signing an inter-university agreement. Through joint research and other collaborative activities based on this interdepartmental agreement, the two centers aim to contribute to promotion of health, medical science development, infrastructure development, human resource development, and product development in both countries.
